A 20-year communications-industry veteran, Mark has worked on both sides of the client/agency spectrum. On the agency side, Mark has led accounts such as Bausch+Lomb, ARAMARK, Sandel Medical, Novalar Pharmaceuticals, Visiogen, Oraya Therapeutics, Pacific Life, 3M Unitek, L.A. Care Health Plan, Talbert Medical Group and many more. On the client side, he’s worked in Vail Ski Resort’s in-house marketing communications department, and at DIRECTV, where he managed branding and marketing initiatives. He also led agency-marketing initiatives at both RiechesBaird and Guzman Michaels Advertising. Mark has a B.A. in communications from California State University, Fullerton, is a published author, and has served on boards for local advertising and technology organizations. Mark is a past president of the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association.
With over a decade of experience leading creative and strategic marketing initiatives, David plays a key role in creating value for our clients. Under his leadership, the Maricich creative team produces effective, award-winning work on a regular basis. In addition to his creative role, David develops effective client marketing strategies for brand building and response generation. He has directed communications programs for ARAMARK, MemorialCare, UCI Health System, Talbert Medical Group, Bausch+Lomb, Sandel Medical, CalOptima and many others. Prior to joining the agency in the mid-90s, David managed marketing and creative properties for Bertelsmann Entertainment Group where he developed talent and oversaw promotions, special events and music video production. David received a B.S. in marketing from San Diego State University.
Named Communicator of the Year by the Orange County Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, Suzanne Maricich is a recognized leader in the marketing field. After 15 years heading up marketing and public relations at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach and other medical centers, Suzanne established her own company in 1986. Today, she serves a number of clients and has received more than 175 national and regional awards for her work. A graduate of Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, Connecticut, she studied journalism at University of California, Berkeley and earned a master’s degree with highest honors from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She is also a past president of the Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Association.
Known nationwide for her work in healthcare marketing, Toyomi is an independent consultant and communications director for the Council of Accountable Physician Practices (CAPP), an affiliate of the American Medical Group Association that was formed by prominent healthcare delivery systems, such as Mayo Clinic, Geisinger, Kaiser Permanente, Intermountain and Cleveland Clinic. At CAPP, she leads a national team of professional marketers and communicators from healthcare systems across the U.S., conducts consumer market research for delivery system reform initiatives and develops communications strategies and campaigns that support the goals of accountable care, payment for value, and physician-led, patient-centered care. Previously, Toyomi led the marketing team at HealthCare Partners, and was an account executive for two agencies. She earned her B.A. in premed/psychology from Barnard College and studied healthcare marketing at Northwestern University, Kellogg School of Management.
Debbie is known worldwide as one of the top creative forces in healthcare marketing. Her past experience includes her role as executive vice president, executive creative director/managing director at Campbell Ewald in L.A. where she concepted, wrote, created and led the breakthrough “Thrive” campaign for Kaiser Permanente—including all print, TV, radio, outdoor advertising and more. Other health-related experience includes her work with Amgen Biotech, Intuit Health division, Family Violence Prevention Fund and many others. Ad Age named Debbie one of the “100 Best and Brightest Women in Advertising” and Adweek Magazine voted her a “Creative Director All Star.” Debbie’s TV advertising work is in the permanent film collection of MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York and she is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and judges the Emmy Awards. Debbie received her education at Indiana University Bloomington.
Roxy offers Maricich’s clients a broad range of marketing skills, from in-depth research and account management to Web strategies. A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Roxy received her B.A. in law and society with a minor in Spanish. In order to expand her knowledge of social trends and market research utilizing various research techniques, Roxy continued her education at California State University, Fullerton, where she’s received a master’s degree in sociology with an emphasis in social research. Roxy’s healthcare brand experience includes MemorialCare Medical Centers, 3M Unitek, ARAMARK, L.A. Care Health Plan, Sandel Medical, UCI Health System and other hospitals and medical device companies.
Cindy heads up Maricich’s print production and design department—creating and producing a variety of marketing materials, ranging from print ads to special purpose publications. She has been instrumental in creating graphic themes and approaches that have set clients apart from others in a crowded marketplace. Cindy is a graduate of the design program at Platt College and actively participates in continuing design education programs at UCLA. Cindy’s healthcare brand experience includes UCI Health System, Torrance Memorial Medical Center, Bausch + Lomb and Visiogen, to name a few.
Chuck is a creative senior-level marketing professional with diverse advertising agency and corporate experience. He has directed strategic marketing communications initiatives for a wide range of healthcare, pharmaceutical and life science companies. While holding senior management positions at Publicis Healthcare Communications, Cochrane Chase, Livingston (Saatchi) and Ruder Finn, he contributed significantly to the success of Affymetrix, Beckman Coulter, Johnson & Johnson, Novartis and Pfizer. Chuck earned a B.A. in communications from California State University, Fullerton.
Ron’s strategic marketing background includes over 20 years of account planning, research, business and brand strategy, creative insight development and copywriting. One of his greatest talents is the ability to take what many may view as complicated and make it easy to understand and relevant to the target audience. In the area of healthcare and the sciences, he has broad experience working with clients such as Loma Linda, the Joslin Diabetes Center, UCI Medical Center, Newport Corporation and Veeco Instruments. Ron has his B.A. in advertising from California State University, Fullerton.
Tina directs Maricich’s business development program, focusing on companies and organizations in the healthcare and medical categories. Tina’s marketing experience includes Myriad Genetics, Conceptus and Focus Diagnostics, where she worked directly with clients and creative teams on print and digital campaigns targeting both consumers and clinicians. She also managed sales and marketing campaigns for Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt where her target audiences included clinics, hospitals, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, and other healthcare organizations. A graduate of John Carroll University in Ohio, Tina received a B.A. in political science and studied pre-law.
With a B.A. in business administration, Liz is a dean’s list graduate from California State University, Fullerton. She helps coordinate the Maricich operation by assisting with overall office management in the areas of client services, technology, business development, logistics and media planning/placement. Liz is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, a by-invitation-only organization with a membership restricted to the top 15 percent of university graduates.
Kate brings a wealth of marketing and public relations experience to the group. Prior to joining Maricich, Kate worked at Fleishman-Hillard International Communications, supporting clients such as Abbott Laboratories, Dunkin’ Donuts, EXACT Sciences and Tufts University. Kate also served as the communications chair for the New England Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Kate is an expert in promoting lifesaving brands through public relations and has directed communications programs for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, United Way, Pacific Coast Imaging and City of Santa Ana (Safe Street Crossers). Kate holds a B.A. in English and theology from Boston College.
Cari’s primary role at Maricich is focused on expanding our team of talented strategic and creative professionals. She provides direction and solutions to our staffing needs, is the first point of contact with new talent and manages our human resources process at Maricich. Cari brings over 10 years of human resource leadership experience working for global companies like AIG and Allianz. Cari obtained a B.A. in organizational psychology with a minor in organizational speech communications from California State University, Fullerton.
